Research publication methodology

The method is part of the evidence. These rules govern every aggregate statistic BinderDex may publish about Pokémon cards or collector behavior.

Scope before statistics

Each study begins with one registered question and a versioned data snapshot. The release states the population, date range, exclusions, metric calculations, source classes, limitations, and query version. A result without that record is not a BinderDex research release.

Privacy and cohort rules

Account-based analysis requires at least 25 distinct accounts. Any reported segment with fewer than 25 observations is suppressed. BinderDex does not publish account identifiers, personal collection or watchlist contents, searches, raw events, IP addresses, or a combination of fields that could reveal a collector.

Source and licensing rules

Owned catalog data may be summarized where appropriate. Aggregate behavior stays non-exportable. Licensed market data requires an explicit licensing decision and is limited to approved aggregate claims; raw licensed feeds are never republished. Official public references are cited and reviewed against their terms.

Publication gate

Privacy, licensing, methodology, and editorial reviews must all be approved by accountable reviewers. A release stays unindexed and out of the research sitemap until every decision, snapshot, limitation, and revision entry is complete.

Corrections and withdrawal

Material errors are corrected in place, the updated date changes, and the revision history explains what changed. If a source can no longer support a claim or a cohort falls below its threshold, the affected result is withdrawn rather than silently preserved.
