Market-watch notes on price movement, set depth, support shelves, releases, and what to watch next.

This is the first issue of a One Piece market column, which means it gets the one privilege a first issue is allowed: nothing to apologize for yet. Starting with issue two, every column opens by scoring what the previous one flagged — in dollars, including the misses. This issue's job is to put real numbers on the record — the risk of being wrong, in print, is the whole product.

The record, as of June 10: the biggest seven-day dollar move on the One Piece board is Monkey.D.Luffy (SP) (Gold) at +$2,511. The biggest percentage story is not one card at all — it is four chase slots from the same set climbing in the same week. And that is the tension this column exists for: a $14,944 Luffy is a spectator sport, but a $560 Rosinante repricing 39% in a week is a decision somebody reading this actually has to make — chase the shelf early, or wait for proof and pay the proof premium.

The June 10 board in five lines
watch first
  • Monkey.D.Luffy (SP) (Gold) OP05-119 added $2,511.16 over seven days to $14,944.22 — the biggest dollar move on the board.
  • Four Anime 25th Collection SPRs rose together: Luffy +$583.71, Charlotte Pudding +$181.22, Donquixote Rosinante +$159.37, and Boa Hancock +$3,897.47 to a number we do not trust.
  • St. Ethanbaron V. Nusjuro (Parallel) OP13-080 is the quiet outlier: +$345.73 to $881.03, a 64.6% week on a main-set parallel.
  • The red column: Gol.D.Roger (Manga) gave back $1,000 to $4,500; Shanks (Parallel) (Manga) slipped $144.34 to $1,950.
  • Data: BinderDex Near Mint rows, June 6–9, 2026. All of it gets scored in issue two.

The Board: Check the Movement, Not the Price

Why the Real Story Is a Set, Not a Card

Treat Hancock as an outlier and take her off the board entirely — the $6,969.69 print deserves the skepticism we gave it — and the week still has a pattern: Luffy SPR +38.3%, Pudding +27.8%, Rosinante +39.3%, and further down the data, Rob Lucci (SPR) +$117.01 to $551.55. Four different characters, four different price tiers, one set: the Extra Booster Anime 25th Collection.

When one card jumps, that is a listing. When four chase slots from the same set jump in the same week, that is a market deciding the set was cheap.

The issue-one read

Anniversary product has been the quiet engine of One Piece's expensive shelf for a year — the 3rd Anniversary trio sits at #2, #4, and #6 on the most expensive One Piece cards board without a single dramatic week among them. The Anime 25th SPR shelf moving in lockstep reads like collectors applying that lesson to the next anniversary product in line.

The uncomfortable version of that sentence, for anyone holding binder money: if the shelf read is right, the cheap window on Anime 25th SPRs is closing this month, not this year. If it is wrong, this week's buyers paid a 30-40% rumor tax. My read is the shelf — four characters across four price tiers is too coordinated for coincidence — but that is exactly the kind of call this column exists to be graded on.

The cleanest chart in the Anime 25th group — and the one issue two will score first.

The Sleeper Read: Nusjuro

St. Ethanbaron V. Nusjuro (Parallel) is the one mover on the board that is not an anniversary chase or a Luffy. It is a parallel from Carrying On His Will doing +64.6% in a week to $881.03, and unlike the SPR shelf above, it could have a gameplay engine behind it — parallels of played cards move on tournament results, not binder demand. We have not verified event data for this one, so it enters the record as a chart, not a thesis.

A playable parallel moving on a real week. The most interesting chart on the board under $1,000.

If it is a playability move, it will correct harder than the collector moves above whenever the meta shifts. Either way, issue two gets to find out in public.

What to Watch: The Calls Issue Two Will Score

Three falsifiable calls, written down so next issue can grade them:

  1. The Anime 25th SPR shelf holds at least half of this week's gain. If Luffy SPR is back under $1,800 by the next board, the shelf story was a blip and we will say so.
  2. Hancock retraces below $5,000. A +126.9% week to a joke number should give most of it back. If it holds $6,969.69, the joke is on this column.
  3. The gold Luffy adds again. Two straight months of gains and a +$2,511 week suggest momentum that does not stop on a calendar boundary. A flat-or-up week confirms; a red week starts the top-is-in conversation.

Roger stays unscored — a single -$1,000 print on a manga rare is noise until a second week agrees with it.

What to watch next

The Read

A first board cannot prove a trend; it can only commit to one. The commitment here is specific: One Piece's money is rotating toward anniversary chase slots, the rotation is broad enough to survive removing its silliest data point, and the next issue of this column will print whether that held — with the misses in the same type size as the hits.
